Exhibition “Todor F. Chipev – the Publisher and Book Trader”

From 1 to 14 December the Institute of Art Studies, BAS will present the exhibition “Todor F. Chipev – the Publisher and Book Trader”. The exhibition is realized with the support of the “Culture” Program of Sofia Municipality and will present for the first time in Bulgaria the famous cultural figure and his numerous publications, archive materials connected with his work, his publishing activities, many documents and photographs. The exhibition will show the first publications in Bulgaria of Ivan Vazov`s novels “Under the Yoke” (1894) and “New Land” (1896), the contract with the novelists for these publications. Of special interest are the miniatures – rare bibliographic publications owned now by the BAS Central Library. Roumyan Konstantinova is curator of the Exhibition.
Opening: 1 December 2009, 11 h at hall “Tarzhestvena” at the State University for Library Studies and Information Technologies, 119 Tzarigradsko Shose.
