Prof. Alexander Yanakiev is on the jury of the Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF), Norway. Jury members: Carmen Gray (UK), Roger Grosvold (Norway).
This year’s 24th edition will be held 13–19 January.
The festival has had an incredible growth since it first commenced in 1991 to become the most popular film festival in Norway. Tromsø International Film Festival is set in the dark polar nights, which gives TIFF the unique possibility to screen films outdoor. The outdoor cinema is located at the main square in the heart of Tromsø. The programme includes a selection of shorts and documentaries. Traditionally, the Aurora prize (to the best film), FIPRESCI prize and Don Quijote prize are awarded. Last year, Aurora went to Cate Shortland’s Lore. This year’s Aurora-winner will be known late next week.
